Mediasite Video Platform (MVP) 8.50 allows admins to grant specified users/roles access to all new features automatically. Additionally, several bug fixes are included in the release.
Known Issue: Upgrade Path Required for Older Versions
Customers upgrading from versions prior to 8.48.0 cannot upgrade directly to Mediasite 8.50.
To successfully upgrade to 8.50, customers must first upgrade to 8.48.0, and then proceed with the upgrade to 8.50.
This issue will be resolved in Mediasite 8.51, scheduled for release next month.
New Features
Automatically Grant Access to New Features
Administrators can now enable a new system policy that automatically grants newly created portal resources (permissions) to selected users and roles.
With this policy enabled, when new Mediasite portal features are introduced in future releases, access will be automatically assigned to the configured accounts, eliminating the need for manual permission updates.
This improves visibility into newly released capabilities and helps drive faster feature adoption across your organization.
Improved Video Assignment Workflows
Submitting video assignments is now clearer than ever. We’ve streamlined the interface to highlight the current status of student uploads and provide prominent “Next Step” guidance, reducing confusion and helping students submit their work on time and with confidence.
