I want to share some website links with my students, alongside the Mediasite video. How can I do this?
Hi Priya, and welcome to the community! ![]()
Great question, and yes, this is absolutely possible. Mediasite has a built-in Links feature that lets you attach one or more web links to a presentation. These appear alongside the video for your students to click through to.
Hereâs how to set it up:
1. Open the presentation in MyMediasite Navigate to the presentation you want to add links to and open its edit view by clicking âEdit Detailsâ.
2. Find the âLinksâ section Youâll see a Links section where you can add, edit, and reorder links.
3. Add your link Click Add Link, then enter:
-
Link Name: what your students will see (e.g. âFurther Reading: Smith et al. 2024â)
-
URL: the full web address, including https://
4. Save and preview Once saved, the links will appear in the âInfoâ section of the player. You need to click on the 3 dots and select âInfoâ to display this. Itâs worth previewing the presentation as a student would see it, just to confirm everything displays the way you want.
A few tips from us:
-
You can add multiple links to a single presentation, so feel free to build up a small resource list.
-
Links are set per presentation, so if you want the same set of links across several recordings, youâll need to add them to each one. If thatâs something youâd like to see as a bulk option, feel free to drop a Feature Request!
-
Make sure any external links you share are accessible to your students. Some institutional resources might require them to be on-network or signed in.
We also have the ability to use our Interactions to make clickable buttons on top of the video to send your students to different resources. Let me know if you want to know more about that too.
Hope that helps, Priya. Let us know if you run into any snags!
