Hi, is it possible to change the time format from 12-hour (AM/PM) to 24-hour clock? If yes, where can I find this setting? Thanks!

Welcome to the Mediasite Community. It is possible to utilise 24 hour time format throughout most of Mediasite. It usually is the default. Can you tell me where you would like it changeable from 12-hour format to 24-hour?

Yes, this cloud site should already have 24 hour format available as default on most settings that have a time value. Was there a specific location you were expecting 24 hour format and it is only 12 hour format? :slight_smile:

Hey Arsen,

Sorry it took me a couple of days but this was an interesting one. After testing with some of my US colleagues, we have been able to figure out why you are seeing PM instead of 24 hour format.

Mediasite is changing the preference based on your browser language settings. So it’s very likely that you have your browser set in US-EN (US English). If you are able to change this to GB-EN (Great British English) or even German, you will see the time format change to 24 hours.

Here’s how to change your browser language for a few of the major browers.

Thank you so much for looking into this and getting back to me! I really appreciate the time you and your US colleagues spent figuring this out.

I changed my Chrome language settings to German, and the time format switched to 24-hour right away. What an interesting issue :joy: I would have never guessed that the browser language was the cause!

Hi Nathan,

Thanks again for your help with the previous issue! However, I noticed another related inconsistency on the Webcast Registration page that I’d like to ask about.

After changing the browser language to German, the Hour format is now displayed correctly in 24H., but now we have another problem :joy: It is also changing the date at the Registration site. It looks like a mix of both languages:

“The broadcast will begin: 11:00 AM on 1. July 2026” and

“The broadcast will begin: 11:00 on 1. Juli 2026”

This looks a bit inconsistent for our German-speaking viewers. Wouldn’t it make more sense for this text to be automatically translated based on the browser’s language setting as well

just like the date format already is? Ideally, when the browser is set to German, the full sentence should appear in German (e.g. “Der Webcast beginnt am 1. Juli 2026 um 11:00 Uhr”).

Is there a way to configure this, or could this be considered as an improvement?

I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.
